500 days of Autumn

500 days of Autumn

Mike and I drove up to the Whiteshell for our mini honeymoon getaway. We had fantastic weather and a cute woodsy cabin that came with a few friendly deer. We called this one "Carrots" due to his orangey antlers and his love of his namesake vegetable.
He was very friendly, though he made no bones that his intention was to get some grub, not to be rubbed or touched. And for whatever reason, this quote continually comes to mind,

“He'll be coming and going" he had said. "One day you'll see him and another you won't. He doesn't like being tied down--and of course he has other countries to attend to. It's quite all right. He'll often drop in. Only you mustn't press him. He's wild, you know. Not like a tame lion.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

Deer are so noble looking, and I fell quite in love with this snobby creature.

Yours,
K
