Night and day

Late night walks at The Forks are one of my favourite fall activities, and so it happens
this particular walk found us shooting city lights sitting on top of a hill, me behind the tripod and him in a chair. We watched as a group of ladies celebrated a 40th birthday in style, complete with fiery sky lanterns. I couldn't resist snapping their pictures as they twirled and lept under the glowing orbs.
I hope I'm that cool when I'm 40.

K

Simple days

We've been friends with Kyle and Nicole for awhile, so when I asked them if I could practice shoot them, they kindly obliged. We ventured out to one of my favourite city spots, a large forest wilderness amidst the concrete jungle of this city. We wandered through the trails and fields with only the sound of  distant airplanes and squirrels and the constant click of my shutter.
I forget sometimes how important of a role nature plays in the harmony of our lives, that even though pumpkin spice lattes line the counter like little soldiers going out to fight battle, that the real autumn is found in the simple pleasure of watching the changing of leaves and listening to the fellowship of wind in the tree's.

Come together

On the the thursday before we were wed, we dragged chairs and a small table into the yard.  The pots were full of chili with vegetables straight from the garden, a veggie burger for me and corn for all. The sun cast beams making jagged lines on the lawn and the chairs creaked as tired bare feet wove themselves between the wooden bars. My Bumpa told jokes, My brothers drew us in with tales of islands made of rock and tree's and the littles wrestled with the dogs.
Both sets of grandparents, one set of parents, 1 uncle,
4 brothers, 3 big, one little.
1 pint sized sister in overalls,
1 scrunchy nosed cutie of a best friend
4 dogs.
